Now in its 84th year, Vision Australia’s Carols by Candlelight raises vital funds to support children who are blind or have low vision and their families across Australia.

As always Carols by Candlelight will be performed at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on December 24.

Channel 9 will broadcast the whole show live from 8pm AEDT on Christmas Eve, as well as a replay on Christmas Day. Up to 10,000 audience members will enjoy the event at the Bowl after a brief absence from attending in 2020.

Vision Australia Radio will celebrate the event with ‘Countdown to Carols’ preview shows in the weeks leading up to the annual event (follow us on Facebook and Twitter for broadcast times) featuring interviews, your favourite Christmas Carols and more, plus our audio described simulcast of Carols by Candlelight from 8pm local time.

What is Audio Description?

Audio description paints an image of transitions, movements, gestures, neatly woven between on-stage dialogue, allowing people who are blind or have low vision to enjoy this great event via technology at live events, on television, film and on radio.
